Bryncarnedd Farm Holiday Cottages Aberystwyth |
Bryncarnedd
(bryn – hill, carnedd – cairn, heap of rocks)
Set in an ideal location, just outside the West Wales town of Aberystwyth Cardigan Bay. Bryncarnedd Holiday Cottages enjoy the best of both worlds being within walking distance of the local shops yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town life to provide a relaxing and peaceful setting for your holiday. Bryncarnedd, once an important dairy farm in the area providing milk to Aberystwyth and the local area has since enjoyed a new lease of life having been sympathetically converted into luxury self-catering cottages.

The land is now being farmed under ‘Tir Gofal’ a pioneering Welsh agri-environmental scheme, which encourages sustainable farming, in a way that cares for the wildlife, historical and cultural features on the land. Each cottage has been named after a traditional farm building and has been designed with care and attention to detail, providing you with all the luxurious fittings you’d expect in a top hotel, but with the privacy and flexibility of a fully equipped self catering facility. Each bedroom in the cottages has its own private bathroom – some with Jacuzzi baths, some with modern shower rooms providing an ideal solution for our disabled guests. The cottages all have an open plan layout which enables you to cook, eat and live in a bright, airy environment, making the most of your valuable time together.

| The town itself is a vibrant mix of old and new. The castle, now in ruins, dominates the seafront. Though Aberystwyth Castle was built in 1277, the area has hosted other castles before it, the earliest settlers were iron ago who built a fortress, which can still be seen in Pen Dinas overlooking south beach. The town has since become and academic and cultural center with the University and the National Library of Wales – an important resource library for those interested in genealogy and tracing family history. |
